The opportunity
This renovation project breathed new life into a charming 1900s miner’s terrace, transforming a tired and damp property into a stylish, energy-efficient home ready for the rental market.
The house had suffered from years of neglect, with rising damp, mould in multiple rooms, and a leaking roof and guttering system. We carried out a full refurbishment, beginning with a complete roof replacement and new gutter installation to resolve the underlying damp issues. To improve energy efficiency, we installed brand-new windows and doors, stripped the front-facing walls back to brick, and insulated them internally.
The interior was reimagined with practicality and longevity in mind—featuring fresh laminate flooring, soft new carpets, a contemporary kitchen, and a modern bathroom redesign. The result is a clean, inviting, and high-quality rental home that attracted a tenant within just one week of marketing.
