The opportunity
This bedroom was designed for a young boywith a passion for airplanes. The project aimed to refresh his space and createa smooth transition from a cot to his first “big boy” bed. The design needed tobalance playful elements with a calming atmosphere that would suit bothplaytime and rest.

A bespoke wooden bed with a handmade Montessori-style tipi tent cover and custom bunting
Rearrangement of the room layout to maximise space and functionality

From Bare to Inspired
The main goal was tosupport the transition from a cot to a larger bed, while giving the room afresh new look that reflected the child’s interests. The updated designincorporated a stunning custom sticker wall featuring layered blue aeroplanesarranged in a modern, geometric style.
To create a playfulyet restful atmosphere, we sourced a customised tipi bed from a local maker anddesigned a tailored tent cover to complement it. Coordinating bunting added afun, personal touch, making the bed and feature wall the visual heart of theroom.
We also reconfiguredthe room layout to maximise usable floor space, ensuring the bedroom could growwith the child. The result was a space that felt both fun and soothing — andmost importantly, one that delighted our young client.
