Kids Airplane-Inspired Bedroom
The opportunity
This bedroom was created for a young boy with a fascination for aeroplanes and adventure. The goal was to design a space that captured his imagination while supporting his growing independence, making the transition from a cot to a “big boy” bed both exciting and reassuring.
A bespoke tipi-style bed became the centrepiece, offering a playful yet cosy retreat for rest and imaginative play. To complement it, a custom aeroplane sticker wall added visual interest without overwhelming the space, while light wood tones and soft blue accents maintained a calm and restful atmosphere.
This project reflects our thoughtful approach to Bedroom Interior Design, where every detail is tailored to the child’s personality, creating a room that evolves beautifully as they grow.
Design Highlights
Custom Aeroplane Feature Wall
A custom-designed sticker wall became the defining element of the room, featuring geometric arrangements of aeroplane decals in soft blue and grey tones. This playful yet refined design anchors the space, tying together the aviation theme while maintaining a calming atmosphere that feels timeless as the child grows.
Montessori-Inspired Tipi Bed
The centrepiece of the design is a bespoke wooden bed with a handmade Montessori-style tipi tent cover and custom bunting. The revised layout was planned to maximise space, allowing for easy movement and imaginative play. The tipi structure adds both warmth and adventure, creating a fun and cosy environment for rest and creativity.
Organised Toy Storage with Personal Touches
Every detail was designed with practicality in mind, including a thoughtful toy storage system with personalised wooden name labels. The curated arrangement keeps the space organised and visually appealing, helping teach independence while maintaining the clean, cohesive aesthetic of the room.

The main goal was to support the transition from a cot to a larger bed while giving the room a fresh new look that reflected the child’s interests. The new design incorporated a stunning custom sticker wall with layered blue aeroplanes arranged in a geometric pattern, creating a modern yet playful focal point.
To achieve a space that felt imaginative but calming, we sourced a bespoke tipi bed from a local maker and designed a tailored tent cover to match. Coordinating bunting added a fun, personal touch, turning the bed and feature wall into the heart of the room. The reconfigured layout maximised floor space, allowing plenty of room for play and movement while maintaining a clean, open feel.
The result is a bedroom that combines fun, function, and flexibility — a design that grows with the child and celebrates his love of flight.
