Living Room Reinvented
The opportunity
The client envisioned a more personal and welcoming living and dining space, moving away from the neutral, minimal look of the original room. Our goal was to create warmth, texture, and personality while retaining key pieces of furniture that held sentimental value.
By layering in richly patterned rugs from West Elm, introducing tactile textiles, and combining new furnishings with the client’s existing collection, the space became both elegant and approachable. A curated mix of accessories, ceramics, and soft lighting enhanced the feeling of comfort, while the client’s original paintings added meaningful colour and authenticity.
This project reflects our broader approach to interior design, where each space is shaped around our clients’ lifestyle and story, balancing function with individuality.

Design Highlights

Layered Rugs and Functional Comfort
Bold, colourful modern rugs were selected to anchor the living and dining zones, adding warmth and definition to the open space. A new sofa and matching console tables were introduced to enhance both comfort and usability, creating a cohesive layout that feels contemporary yet homely.

Thoughtful Accessory Styling
The existing colour palette was subtly elevated through carefully chosen accessories that add texture and interest. Metallic accents, ceramics, and soft textiles were layered to create depth, transforming the once neutral room into a lively yet harmonious setting.

Art-Inspired Design Narrative
The client’s personal artwork guided the overall design direction, influencing both colour and mood. By integrating tones from the paintings into the rugs and accessories, the space gained a unified, authentic character that reflects the homeowner’s individuality.
From Bare to Homley
The open-plan space once felt empty, with only a few scattered pieces of furniture and little sense of flow or comfort. By rethinking the layout and improving circulation, we introduced a more balanced and connected arrangement that made full use of the room’s generous proportions. Each area was carefully considered — from the placement of the new family sofa that encourages conversation and relaxation, to the addition of console tables and soft lighting that enhance the room’s atmosphere.
Thoughtfully selected accessories, layered textiles, and a mix of modern and existing pieces now give the space a sense of depth and belonging. What was once a blank canvas has become a warm, characterful living and dining area that feels both stylish and lived-in. The result is a room that perfectly reflects our approach to Living Room Interior Design, combining comfort, creativity, and genuine personality to create a home that feels as good as it looks.
